        Free energy and equilibrium constant of the reaction CO+2H2=CH3OH(g) are calculated at various temperatures.  ΔF298=10.950, ΔF523=O, the working limit of the process at 100 atm. is 700 abs.  The method of calculation is that of Lewis and Randall.  Parks value for the entropy of liquid CH3OH is assumed.
