C obtained from CO or benzine by the method previously described or precipitated in the presence of Fe(CO)₅, although crystalline, is highly adsorptive. The adsorptive power cannot be attributed to the presence of amorphous C. It is due to a very loose, crystalline structure, presenting an enormous surface.
