       Catalyst prepared by precipitation of Ni and Th carbonates on kieselguhr by addition of NH₄HCO₃ to a solution of the nitrates in presence of excess of CO₂, and subsequent reduction in H₂, first at 500° and then at 300°-350° (for 6 hr. in each case), gave 147.5 gm. hydrocarbons other than CH₄/m.³ of synthesis gas with a space velocity of 0.90 l./hr./gm. of Ni.
