       Nearly 5,000 workers are now employed in the Ruhrchemie works; only rarely has it employed as many workers in the past.  The N₂ plant is working with 3 8-hr. shifts daily, and as soon as permission is granted for the processing of coal-H₂ the works will extend its activities to produce synthetic gasoline and other products such as alcohol, lubricating oil, fatty acids, and detergents.
