       Mixture of 16-17 gm. borax glass, 6.4 gm. Fe₂O₃, and 3.0 gm. NiO was heated in Pt to 1,330°, held there 10-12 hr., and cooled @2°/hr. for 25-40 hr.; the furnace was then turned off completely. Crystals of NiFe₂O₄ up to 2 mm. on a side, with impurities <0.5%, were obtained.  The dielectric constant, the saturation magnetization, the magnetic anisotropy constant K₁, and the complex initial permeability were measured.
