       Apparatus designed (abs. 1027) to investigate catalytic reactions of mixtures of CO and H₂ was used with Fe as a catalyst.  Mixtures of CO, CO₂, H₂O, and CH₄ were investigated at 600°-700° and up to 6 atm. CH₄ remained practically unchanged.  Reactions taking place were:  (1) 2CO→CO₂+C and (2) CO+H₂O→CO+H₂.
