Results are reported from which it seems clear that products obtained catalytically at pressures of 10-15 atm. are intermediate in character.  They were neither exclusively hydrocarbons, as in the atmospheric pressure synthesis, nor mainly oxygenated compounds, as the high-pressure synthol synthesis.  A disadvantage of working at 10-15 atm. is that paraffins of high molecular weight are retained by the catalyst, rendering it inactive in time.  A paraffin, C70H144 was isolated.
