     German oil production, consumption, and import statistics.  A general discussion of the possible future supply from coal points to the most economical production by coal distillation to produce tar oil and coke, the coke being gasified with steam to produce water gas, which may be used in the production of synthetic motor fuel.  The coal tar serves as a basis for diesel and fuel oils.
