Rates of adsorption of N2 by promoted and by pure Fe catalysts were measured over the temperature range 273°-450°.  The energy of activation of the adsorption process is about 16,000 cal.  Isotherms at 400° and 450° indicate a heat of adsorption of about 35,000 cal.  Isotherms taken at –189° are linear with respect to pressure 100-760 mm.
