      Equations are derived for the rate of absorption and the concentration when a solute of limited solubility diffuses into a semi-infinite medium with which it undergoes a 1^st-order reaction.  Consideration is given to the case where the medium is a mixture only 1 component of which reacts.  Examples are the absorption of a gas into a liquid or solid, the solution of a solid into a supernatant liquid, or the absorption of 1 solid or liquid material into another.
