     Brief account of the Carthage Hydrocol, Inc., development at Brownsville utilizing a modified Fischer-Tropsch process.  The plant will process 64,000,000 cu. ft. of dry gas/day, yielding 3.84 and 0.78 gal. respectively of gasoline and Diesel fuel/1,000 cu. ft. of gas.  Development of the process is traced with special reference to the production of cheap O₂ and the conversion of CH₄ into CO and H₂ by the direct reaction of CH₄ and O₂.
