Adsorption of H₂O and air on activated charcoal was studied by measuring the magnetic susceptibility of the adsorbent containing air and H₂O. The value for pure H₂O, -0.72X10^-6, was found constant for adsorbed H₂O also. The value for air, +24.16X10^-6, decreased slowly to +14.94X10^-6 at 20°.
