                 According to Die Chemische Industrie, Düsseldorf, the Hydrierwerk of Rodleben near Rossian (formerly Deutsche Hydrierwerke) is building a plant for production of fatty acids by oxidation of paraffin.  The material is to be used in the manufacture of soap.  The new plant will have an annual capacity of 6,400 tons per year.  The first section, 185 tons per mo., is expected to be ready soon.
