Brief mention is made of some French workers, Marcelin Berthelot, Sabatier and Senderens, Prudhomme and Houdry.  The Pieters furnace at Millau and the Tauzer furnace at Laluque, France, have not given the expected results.  An attempt is being made to use the Prudhomme-Houdry process in the catalytic hydrogenation of the water gas from St. Julien lignite to produce a motor spirit.
