                  Summary of a report prepared for the Minister in Charge of Australian Commonwealth Council for Scientific and Industrial Research by Sir D. Rivett.  The conclusion is against recommending that any public money be provided at the present time for so costly a project.  The study covered low-temperature distillation, hydrogenation of coal, and synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H₂.
