General description, discussion and comparison of the relative merits of the production of MeOH and of Fischer gasoline, respectively, by the action of H₂ on CO under various conditions. The choice between hydrogenation and these synthetic processes for the production of motor fuel depends largely on the nature and quality of the raw material available.
