Heating a mixture of CO2 and C6H6 vapor with various metallic catalysts to 550°-750° led only to the formation of traces of CO in the final gas.  The gas mixture of 4CO+H2 heated on the same catalysts to 200°-800° did not show a reaction; only when ZnO+0.5% Fe2O3 was employed as a catalyst, the formation of 24% CO2 produced by decomposition of CO on Fe was observed.
