                  Exit gas from catalysts used for petroleum syntheses was passed over Fe at 850°.  H₂ and hydrocarbons reduced the CO₂ to CO.  This gas could be reused for petroleum synthesis.  The gas can also be converted into CH₄ by passing over Ni at 240°.  The calorific value of the gas after extraction of CO₂ was 6400 kg. cal. per m³.
