An addendum is presented. The Pintsch-Hillebrand process yields a gas suitable for the Fischer synthesis in 1 stage. It contains 15% inerts (CO₂, CH₄, and N₂) and 85% of H₂ and CO in the ratio, H₂:CO=2. After catalytically converting the CO into CO₂ and washing out the latter, the gas contains 97-98% of H₂. Data provided by J. Pintsch A.-G., are given for the cost of erecting and operating a plant yielding 80,000 m.³ of synthesis gas/hr.
