Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a middle cut having broad boiling point range and useful especially as a jet fuel and diesel fuel, by converting a synthesis gas into hydrocarbons in the presence of a catalyst produced by supporting Co and Ni on a carrier composed of Zr oxide or hydroxide.

CONSTITUTION: A catalyst is produced by using Zr hydroxide or oxide as a carrier and supporting a mixture of Co and Ni on the carrier. The weight ratio of Co/Ni is 30/70-70/30 (preferably 40/60-60/40) and the total amount of Co and Ni is 5-50 wt.% (preferably 10-30 wt.%) based on the carrier. A mixed synthesis gas composed of H2 and CO is subjected to catalytic reaction in the presence of said catalyst at 150-300oC (preferably 200-250oC) under 5-100 kg/cm2 (preferably 10-50 kg/cm2) pressure and GHSV of about 100-5,000 hr-1 to obtain the objective middle cut hydrocarbons.
