Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain economically hydrocarbons in a long life of catalyst with preventing formation of heavy aromatic components, by bringing a synthesis gas into contact with a specific catalyst prepared by combining crystalline aluminosilicate with a metal.

CONSTITUTION: A synthesis gas [a molar ratio (H2/CO) of hydrogen and carbon monoxide of preferably 0.5-5] is brought into contact with a catalyst obtained by combining fluorinated crystalline aluminosilicate with a metal or a metal compound capable of reducing carbon monoxide, to give the compound. In a method to fluorinate crystalline aluminosilicate, for example, crystalline aluminosilicate powder is immersed in an aqueous solution of fluorine-containing compound such as ammonium fluoride, etc. For example, iron, nickel, copper, etc. or its oxide may be cited as the metal or the metal oxide combined.
