ABSTRACT:

The authors commenced investigations of FT reactions with near-critical n-hexane as the reaction medium. Further work was performed on catalyst characterization, including testing a catalyst that has been merely pretreated and catalyst which has also been used in reaction. Successful on-line analysis of FT products in the range was made using the Petrocol DH capillary column. Several analytical problems had to be solved prior to this step however. These problems and their resolutions are described.  Preliminary results are included with this report.
