ABSTRACT:

The results of an economic comparative evaluation of the methanol-to-gasoline and Fischer-Tropsch syntheses are reported. It was concluded that the Mobil methanol conversion technology is superior to the F-T technology. The thermal energy loss converting the methanol to gasoline is not excessive. The Mobil fluid-bed process is somewhat better than its fixed-bed process. The results of the evaluations are tabulated.  (ERA citation 03:023300)
