ABSTRACT:

This Quarterly Report describes the conclusion of the eighth run of the Two-Stage Fischer-Tropsch/ZSM-5 pilot plant, as well as the startup and early operation of the ninth run. The latter run uses Catalyst I-B to produce high C sub 3+ yield. Also in this report are results of hydrodynamic studies performed in our 5.1 and 10.2 cm ID hot-flow bubble-columns, determining the effect of column diameter on gas holdup.  The Appendix-Restrictive Distribution describes new studies on hydrocracking and thermal cracking of a Fischer-Tropsch reactor-wax. The Task 2, Scoping Studies of Fischer-Tropsch Reactor-Wax Upgrading, is now complete. 2 refs. (ERA citation 11:008516)
