ABSTRACT:

During the second quarter significant progress was made in the design and construction of a computer-automated reactor system to be used in the kinetic and deactivation studies. A portion of the computer software for control of reactor temperature, pressure and flow was written, while about three-fourths of the reactor hardware was installed and tested. A study of literature dealing with deactivation of catalysts by carbon was completed; work was begun on a Ph.D. prospectus, detailing plans for the kinetic and deactivation studies. The Pl and several students attended the Second Annual Meeting of the Western States Catalysis Club, received two visitors and published one paper. 46 refs. (ERA citation 12:024410)
