3891. WEIZMANN, C. Aromatic Hydrocarbons. British Patent 574,973, Jan. 29, 1946; appl. filed Mar. 11, 1941. Chem. Abs., vol. 42, 1949, p. 1955.

Aromatic hydrocarbon product is produced from a hydrocarbon oil, boiling within the range 150°-400°, originating from the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process. The hydrocarbon oil is subjected, in the form of its vapor, to the action of a hydrogenation-dehydrogenation catalyst, at 500°-800°, at about atmospheric pressure, and at a space velocity of 0.1-0.5 1. of the oil per 1. of catalyst vol. per hr. The reaction product is cooled and condensed, and the liquid phase obtained is fractionally distilled.
