For breaking the emulsions, there is added to them a sulfonation product of a polymerized mixture of olefins obtained by dehydrating high molecular alcohols from the hydrogenation of C oxides, the polymerized mixture containing olefins with from 10 to about 20 C atoms in the molecule.
