High-molecular aliphatic hydrocarbons are oxidized with O2-containing gases in presence of catalysts, which consist of compounds of elements of groups 6-8, if desired, together with alkali, earth alkali, or Mg compounds.  Example:  3 parts Mn strearate, 1 Mg Stearate, and 1 stearic acid.  The catalyst used is 1-2% of the hydrocarbons.
