PATENT

3729. ----- [SZIGETH, G ] [Water Gas Suitable for Industrial Synthesis.] Hungarian Patent 127,066, June 16, 1941. Chem. Abs., vol. 35, 1941, p. 8263.

Liquid fuels, such as mineral oils, their distillation residues, gas oils, and tars, are gasified under a pressure of 15-20 atm. at 1,200°-1,300°, with a slight excess of steam. A part of the required moisture may be introduced as an aqueous emulsion of the fuel. The reaction temperature is maintained constant by igniting and oxidizing a part of the fuel by O2 or air enriched with O2. Gives structural details of the furnace.
