CO and H2 are reacted in presence of fluidized finely divided Fe-type catalyst at a temperature 500°-700° F. and a pressure 400-600 p. s. i.  An O content of 5-30% by weight is maintained in the catalyst by injecting steam into the reactor.  The amount is 0.05-0.8 part by volume of steam per part of H2 in the total feed.  2 literature refs. and 7 United States patents cited.
