Aliphatic hydrocarbons produced catalytically under ordinary pressure from CO and H2 are treated to separate constituents b. up to 100°. The Monoolefins in the constituents having a higher b. p. are polymerized, for example, with AlCl3 to form lubricating oils, and the residue is subjected to cracking to obtain an antiknock fuel.
