CO and H2, 30:60%, are passed over a Co-Th catalyst at 4 atm. and 190°.  The catalyst becomes coated with solid paraffin at the usual temperature in such a manner that the empty space does not become filled with it, and the catalysts are so arranged that the paraffin can continually drip from the bottom.
