3677. ----- [STUDIEN-UND VERWERTUNGS-G. M. B. H] [Liquid Hydrocarbons by Reduction of Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent 708,889, July 31, 1941; appl. St. 52,782, filed Nov. 8, 1934 (Cl. 12 o-1.03).  FIAT Reel AA 90, frames 1,478-1,482; PB 70,275; Chem. Abs., vol. 37, 1943, p. 3250.

In producing liquid hydrocarbons by the catalytic reduction of CO with regulation of the temperature by means of a system of horizontally and parallelly arranged tubes filled with a cooling liquid, each individual tube being provided with transverse fins standing vertically to the tube axis, the space between being packed with the catalyst, use is made to the best advantage of a known tube sytem, whose horizontal tubes or ducts are rectangular in shape and placed with their longest cross-sectional axes in the direction of the gas stream and are provided with rectangular fins touching each other.
