3633.  STEINSCHLAEGER, M., AND LONDON TESTING LABORATORY, LTD.  Carbon Monoxide-Hydrogen Mixtures.  British Patent 513,778, Oct. 23, 1939; appl. filed Feb. 17, 1938.  Chem. Abs., vol. 35, 1941, p. 2304.

Mixtures suitable for conversion into hydrocarbons are produced by mixing a gas mixture consisting principally of CO and H2 with coal distillation gases and passing the resulting mixture over a catalyst to produce gases rich in CH4, these gases being then converted at 1,400°-1,450° with steam in a decomposing plant lined with refractory bricks.  The primary gas mixture may be formed by mixing water gas with coal-distillation gases.
