3623. ----- [STEINSCHLAEGER, M.]  Gas Mixtures Containing Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.  British Patent 574,048, Dec. 19, 1945.  Chem. Abs., vol. 42, 1948, p. 6091.

Gas mixture suitable for use in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is prepared by 1st heating a mixture of blue water gas, H2 and coke-oven gas in the presence of Co or Ni catalyst, 160°-250°, to produce an oil and a residual gas.  This gas is then heated with steam, 1,200°-1,450°, and the product mixed with blue water gas and a gas, which has been obtained by heating blue water gas with steam at 400°-550°.  CO2 is then separated from the gas mixture and a gas containing 1.8-2.0 vol. of H2 per vol. of CO is obtained.
