PATENT

3525. ----- [STANDARD OIL CO.]  Motor Fuel and Aromatic Hydrocarbons From Fischer Synthesized Hydrocarbons.  British Patent 585,352, Feb. 5, 1947.  Chem. Abs., vol. 41, 1947, p. 5710.

Hydrocarbons formed by Fischer synthesis are separated into a napththa fraction and a gas-oil fraction.  The former is catalytically hydroformed and the latter catalytically cracked by conventional processes.  The hydroformed products are fractionated into a light fraction, a heavy fraction, and an intermediate fraction rich in aromatics.  The products of the cracking step are fractionated into gasoline, a light fraction, a heavy fraction, and a fraction rich in aromatic compounds.  Aromatic hydrocarbons are separated from either or both of the fractions rich in aromatic compounds by solvent extraction, and the light and heavy fractions are blended to form a gasoline.
