Example:  For the preparation of 415,000,000 ft.3 of synthesis gas per day containing 175,000,000 ft.3 H2, 175,000,000 ft.3 CO, and 65,000,000ft.3  CO2 from a coal containing 4.2 lb. H2 per 100 lb. C with Fe oxide as the O2 carrier, the suitable operating conditions are: Coal feed, 188 ton per hr.; process steam feed, 440,000 lb. per hr.: air feed to regenerator, 315,000 standard ft.3 per min.: solids circulated from regenerator to generator.  1,200 ton per min.: generator temperature, 1,800° F.: generator pressure, 100 p. s. i. g. : regenerator temperature, 1,900° F.; regenerator pressure, 1 p. s. i. g. : approximate height of standpipe from regenerator to generator, 100 ft.; preheating temperature of steam and air, 1,100° F.
