3475.   ------.  [SOCIETA ANON. PRODOTTI ITALIANI SINTETICI.]  Catalytic Synthesis of Hydrocarbons.  British Patent 626,069, July 8, 1949.  Fuel Abs., vol. 6, 1949, abs. 4,121; Chem. Abs., vol. 44, 1950, p. 2734.

Hydrocarbons are synthesized from a gas mixture containing CO and H2 by passing the mixture upward through a reaction zone containing a fluidized, suspended, Fischer catalyst under suitable conditions of temperature and pressure for the synthesis reactions. The catalyst material is subsequently separated from the reaction products, wherein the finely divided solid catalyst material comprises particles ranging upward in size from 5 microns or less, the larger particles over 80 microns being predominantly smaller than 150 microns and containing no particles larger than 1,650 microns and having the following overall size distribution:

0-20 micron diameter less than 25%

20-80 micron diameter, less than 30-85%

Greater than 80 micron diameter, less than 45%.
