AcOH is made catalytically from CO and H2:  as catalysts may be used: (1) Ni, Cr, or Co taken or mixed, either as metal, oxide, or carbonate.  If they are used as metals they may be in the form of alloys.  (2) Any of the above may be mixed with MnCO2.
