Gas mixture is passed under the reaction conditions through a fluidized layer of catalyst, and finely divided clay (acid treated bentonite or the like) is mixed with the catalyst. (Fe, Co) in the reaction zone to improve its flowability and to cut down the loss of solids therefrom.
