3331. ----- [SENSEL, E.E., AND BECK, R.A.] (The Texas Co.). Method for Catalytically Synthesizing Hydrocarbons. United States Patent 2,501,695, Mar. 28, 1950; appl. filed Oct. 1, 1946, Serial No. 700,508; 5 claims (Cl. 260-449.6). Chem. Abs., vol. 44, 1950, p. 5082.

CO-H2 mixture is converted directly to hydrocarbons of higher molecular weight by passage in contact with a hydrogenation catalyst at a velocity not great enough to fluidize the catalyst mass, but with the catalyst itself aerated by mechanical agitation. The powder is aerated to an apparent density less than its normal settled density. Any means of agitation may be used. 1 foreign patent and 7 United States patents cited.
