Fe catalyst of usual type is passed in suspended form with the unconverted synthesis gas residues into the reaction chamber. The converters consist at least of 2 chambers connected in series.  A steam of fresh CO and H2 is injected at suitable locations into the upwardly directed gas stream.  The catalyst is suspended in a flowing and turbulent medium.
