Larger amounts of paraffin are obtained in the synthetic  production of hydrocarbons  from CO and H2 by extracting the paraffin from the catalysts more frequently than is necessary for the regeneration of the catalysts.  A mixture of gasoline and hydrocarbons of high boiling point are used as solvent.
