3186.  --------.  Revivification of Catalyst.  British Patent (Provisional) 33,814, filed 1936.

High-boiling hydrocarbons deposited on the catalyst are removed with H2, steam, or solvent.  The revivification is carried out in situ and at temperatures not higher than the normal reaction temperature.  The use of the fraction of the product boiling 130º-140º is recommended as the solvent, the extraction being carried out at 110º.  By these means the catalyst life may be extended greatly beyond the usual 1 or 2 mo.
