Carboxylic acids are recovered from the concentrates obtained by treating the primary products of CO hydrogenation with alkalies after their decomposition with crude carboxylic acids, driving off the unsaponifiable constituents, and distilling off the H3O, while maintaining a H2O to oil ratio of 5:2 to 2:1.  Addition to German Patent Appl. R 115,996 (abs.3083).
