3132.----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.]  [Process for Producing Unsaturated Hydrocarbons by the Catalytic Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent Appl. R 114,182, R 636, filed Sept. 26, 1942 (Cl. IV d-12 o).  FIAT Reel K-30, frames 7,606-7,609; PB 73,587;TOM Reel 177, frames 1,513-1,515a; TOM Reel 36, bag 3,454, item 36, 4 pp.,Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1, chap. 13, 1948, p. 33.

In the production of unsaturated hydrocarbons by means of CO hydrogenation and the use of water gas or other CO-rich gas mixtures with gas recycle or addition of inert gas, the operation is performed with a constant gas composition and with a decreased amount of charge.  A gas-recycled or inert gas ratio is used that lies between 1 space volume of fresh gas to 2 of recycle (or inert) gas and 1 space volume. of fresh gas to 4 of recycle (or inert) gas.  By decreasing the charge by 20% and using a ratio of water gas to recycle  gas of 1:3 instead of a single passage, there was an increase of olefins in the product up to 200° from 39-68.5% and 200°-300° from 23-48.5%.
