3128.----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.]  [Process for Producing Hydrocarbons by the Catalytic Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent Appl. R 115,338, R 662, filed Feb 1, 1943 (Cl. IV b-26 d).  FIAT Reel K-30, frames 7,981-7,984; PB 73,587; TOM Reel 177, frames 1,481-1,484; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1, chap. 5, 1948, p. 13.

Fischer-Tropsch caalysts that have become exhausted are cleaned and sieved, oxidized with air, and subjected to treatment with S-containing gases, such as coke-oven gas, until thoroughly impregnated and are then used to remove organic S compounds from synthesis gas.  For example, a coke-oven gas containing 10-15 gm. of organic S after removal of the H2S and passed through the catalyst at 400°-450° contained not more than 0.1-0.5 gm of S per 100 m.3 after 1,000 hr of use.
