PATENT

3060. ----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A.G.] [Process for Producing an Antiknock Motor Fuel.] German Patent Appl. R 102,112, R 388, filed Apr. 16, 1938 (Cl. IV d-46 a) TOM Reel 37, bag 3,451, item 35, 6 pp.; TOM Reel 177, frames 1,552-1,557; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1, chap. 21, 1948, p. 54.

Olefin portion boiling up to 70° of the liquid hydrocarbons obtained by the catalytic conversion of CO and H2 in the proportion 1:1 and with gas recycle is converted to polymer benzine over a phosphoric acid catalyst.  That part of the liquid product of benzine synthesis b.>200° is cracked under mild conditions, and that part then boiling up to 70° is polymerized as above.  The olefins occurring in the cracking with terminal double bonds are then converted by catalytic treatment with activated bleaching earth into olefins with internal double bonds.  All of the benezines thus obtained are then mixed to form a motor fuel of excellent quality.
