3020.  ------.  [RUHRCHEMIE A. G.]  [Process for Dechlorinating the Condensation and Polymerization Products of Olefins Obtained by Cracking the Products From the Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent Appl. --, R 723, filed Aug. 3, 1944.  FIAT Reel K-30, frames 7,755-7,758; PB 73,587; TOM Reel 37, bag 3,451, item 36, 4 pp.

Olefins before condensation and polymerization are treated with an alkaline agent such as caustic soda and after polymerization with AlCl3 in known manner with dechlorinating agents such as bleaching earth and/or MgO, ZnO or Zn at temperatures of 180°-240°.  Such a pretreatment with alkali gives a product with only 14 mg. per kg. Ch as against 350 mg. without such treatment.
