      3007.  ------.  [RUHRCHEMIE A. G.]  [Process for Carrying out the Catalytic Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent Appl. R 110,530, R 581, filed July 7, 1941 (Cl. IV d-12 o).  TOM Reel 177, frames 1,686-1,694; TOM Reel 36, bag 3,454, item 36, 9 pp; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 1, chap. 49, 1948, p. 120.

Catalytic conversion is preformed in the presence of a liquid spray and the exothermic heat of reaction is kept at a nearly constant temperature through evaporation of the liquid particles.  The conversion may be performed by steps during which the vapors of the mingled liquids are removed in definite amounts together with the reaction products.  The described apparatus consists of a converter without cooling tubes and having a condenser through which the gas passes after leaving the converter and is relieved of its condensed vapors after which it is recharged with liquid spray and recirculated.
